This is the information your local car audio shops don't want you to have! It WILL save you $$$

Dear car audio shopper/enthusiast,
Lets face it: buying and installing car audio systems is pretty expensive. I know because I have been a professional installer for over ten years...

Hi, my name is Dave and I have been in the car audio business for a long time. There have been times when I charged over forty dollars for installations that took less than 15 minutes... I have charged over four hundred dollars for less than one day's work... No, I wasn't overcharging the customers -those were the labor charges that the store charged on those particular installs.
Don't get mad; most installers are decent, hard working people who only get a small portion of what their shop's charge for labor. The rest of it goes to the business owner so that he/she can pay for the building and the fancy demo cars that the shop has.
You used to have only two options: pay a professional, or hope that you and your friends could figure out the wiring. BUT NOT ANYMORE...

I have decided to take all my notes and experience from my many years of installing and make all that information available as an easy to read  and easy to understand e-book. I remember what it was like when I was starting out; information back then.if this kind of information had been available back then it would have saved a lot of time, hassles, headaches, and money. I would have given anything to have this  Plus, it seems like nowadays, most of the information on the internet is not coming from a professional installer. It seems like everyone who has done one install wants to tell others how to do it. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your own handiwork, but these people are not professionals. I actually saw one website where that person's only 'qualification' was that he once had a roommate that was an installer. I think you deserve better than that.

Just look at how much you'll save doing your own installs:

Common labor charges:
radio: $30-45, speaker install: $25-45 (pr) , amplifer install: $45-60, custom sub box:  $100+
Even a basic "deck and four" install could set you back $80-125 bucks!...amps and subs push the ticket even higher! That's why this book can save you big money...not to mention, if you wire something up wrong and it gets damaged, that is not covered by the manufacturers warranty.
Doing your installs wrong will cost you more in the long run

If equipment is not installed correctly, it will not perform at it's best... and that is a best-case scenario. More than likely, something goes wrong. The equipment might get damaged, meaning you either have to have it repaired or replaced. If something on your vehicle gets damaged, that could start getting real expensive. Oh, sure, you might have a friend or a neighbor who claims to know how to install, but unless they have been installing professionally, chances are it still won't get done right. I know because I was the neighborhood kid that did installs for all my friends. Looking back, I know I did a bunch of stuff wrong. I wasn't really installing then, it was more like practicing. I never realized just how much there was to learn back then, until after I became a professional installer. Now, the shop I work at charges forty-five bucks and hour to fix installs done by untrained amatuers.

Yes, there are some schools that can teach you to install, but can you afford them?

In case you have not checked these out, let me save you a little time. These schools are pretty expensive...several thousand dollars worth. Yes, they can give you hands-on training where my book can't, but these schools are designed for the person who wants to become a professional installer, not the do-it-yourselfer. If you want to become an installer, these schools are great. I recommend them. My book would actually make a great introductory course for someone interested in these schools. But if you just want to do your own installations, or install for your friends, you need this book. I have seen some instructional video tapes available from these schools, but even these get pretty expensive. By the time you get all the tapes in the series, you'll wind up spending several hundred dollars easily. That is why I saw the need for this kind of book; people like yourself need affordable professional instruction.

When I decided to make this information available, I wanted to make it affordable

Unlike those installer schools or instructional video tapes, I wanted the average car audio enthusiast and do-it-yourselfers to be able to afford this book.  I mean, heck, if you can afford to pay a couple hundred bucks for an instructional tape series , you'd pay for someone to do your install, right? That's why we priced our book way below what you'd expect for a book of this size and quality. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine (who owns another car stereo shop) has told me that he thinks my price is too low, so I may have to adjust my prices soon!
